Google Pixel 2 XL Android Smartphone, The newest of the Pixel series
Today we are looking into Google Pixel 2 XL, the latest Android Smartphone of pixel series and it is surely a solid choice.
With the mobile market getting more and more vicious every year, Google sends this 2nd generation flagship to clash with others’. Can it outperform experts like Samsung or Apple? Let’s find out!!!
Looking at the big picture
The newest of the Pixel series, the Pixel 2 XL, is pretty much a Pixel 2 with larger and more sophisticated screen. While bezel-less seems to be the trend this year, Google Pixel 2 XL manages to make its edge thinner than the later XL.
The result, however, is not that satisfying compared to the edge to edge screens of competitors yet the design does contain some nice tricks up the sleeves.
Although it is not rounded and thin as much as other smartphones, the texture of the body makes it easier to grip and harder to slip out which is definitely a wise touch from Google.
The brand also defies dual camera fashion with single 12.2 million pixels rear camera on the back and an 8 million up front packed along with a nice portrait mode to perform on either side.
One of the features that stands out is you can squeeze the sides to call up Google Assistant, but for now, it is not customizable.
The model sticks to the smartphone’s cliché when it comes to color choices, black, and black and white which in our opinion is no different from a cliché movie plot.
For storage, it disappointingly gives only 64GB and 128GB options without any card slot making it a deal breaker for some users.
Pixel by Pixel
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and 4GB memory run with harmony at everyday tasks as well as its long lasting battery which can carry average users through the day effortlessly.
You already know that Google owns Android and who will be better at developing a device for the OS than Google itself. Pixel is able to utilize this advantage and takes Android 8.0 Oreo’s performance to the last bit.
It is loaded with tons of wise designed software, for example, Picture in Picture, with promise for constantly updating. Frankly, Google Pixel 2 XL is noticeably faster than other Android devices even the top ones.
Yet, what this Pixel 2 XL really kills is cameras. While using 12.2 MP on the rear and 8 MP on the front, which clearly is not that much, somehow it manages to create a miracle.
The result pictures are all gorgeous and easily outclassed those from its competitors. The screen, on the other hand, falls short of expectations.
Even though Google Pixel XL2 supports QHD+, the colors are somewhat dull and lack of vibrant. Also, it is a little hard to get a clear vision when looking at the screen from a side view.
The Art’s Taste
Google Pixel 2 XL is a decent choice for those who opt for powerful and clean software with a good performance, and the best photographs. Others, who seek bigger screen and striking display, may have to look somewhere else.
Judging by the price, it shouldn’t be very hard to find some better models at the criteria. However, we cannot rest our eyes just yet as Google is still young in this industry, but shows rather promising signs.
Maybe the next Google Pixel will be a world-changing phenomenal we are waiting for.
